The Bhagavad Gita
Kernaussagen
In diesem Bit
- Die Kernidee
Two armies stand ready on the field of Kurukshetra. Arjuna, the finest archer of his age, asks his charioteer Krishna to drive between them, sees his own teachers and cousins on the other side, and drops his bow.
- Das unzerstörbare Selbst
Krishna's first move is to shift what Arjuna thinks he is grieving. The body, he says, is like a set of clothes: worn for a time, then set aside.
- Handle, aber lass das Ergebnis los
The Gita's most quoted idea is karma yoga: you have a claim on your work, never on its fruits. This is not a counsel of not caring.
- The steady mind and the three strands
Arjuna asks what a person of settled wisdom actually looks like. Krishna describes someone who draws the senses inward the way a tortoise pulls in its limbs, who meets praise and blame, gain and loss, with the same even temper.
- Viele Wege auf denselben Berg
The Gita does not insist on a single path. For those drawn to inquiry it offers jnana, the way of knowledge.
- In die Praxis umsetzen
This week, pick one task you are anxious about and do it while deliberately setting the outcome aside: prepare fully, then let the interview, pitch or exam be what it is. Sit for 5 minutes each morning with a straight back and count your breaths, returning each time you drift.
